Reply 2 is a memory aid that helps people stay connected with friends, family, and colleagues. It receives your messages from many different sources such as email, blogs or social networking sites and helps you remember who to reply to.

The problem

"Kevin" receives messages from many different sources e.g. email, social networking sites, texts and blog posts
He an’t reply to all messages immediately
He tries to remember who he needs to reply to
Often replies late, or forgets to reply

Research methods

Interviews gave us scenarios and ‘provisional’ personas to inform and evaluate design
Brain-storming with in-house team
Participatory design and user testing with paper prototypes

Research outcomes

Users rely on memory which is not 100% reliable
Users leave messages unread as a reminder
Users want to be able to flag certain messages

Requirements gathering

Functional requirements: use a single interface
Data requirements: in real-time, seamless
Context requirements: mobile or web
User characteristics: filter function, ignore, reply later
User experience goals: consistency, regardless of source
